Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients’ trauma histories and identify tailored treatment approaches.

• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans aimed at facilitating trauma recovery and building resilience.
\n
• Utilize established therapeutic interventions, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to support patients in processing their trauma.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, providing a safe space for patients to develop coping strategies and engage in healing practices.
\n
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and a multidisciplinary team to ensure an integrated approach to patient care.
\n
• Provide crisis intervention and support for patients in trauma-related emergencies, employing de-escalation techniques and immediate therapeutic support.
\n
• Educate patients and their families on trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available community resources to enhance their recovery journey.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation, adhering to all legal and ethical standards of practice.
\n
• Engage in regular case consultations, team meetings, and professional development activities that focus on advancements in trauma-informed care.

• Stay current with the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy to ensure deliverance of high-quality therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our patients primarily include individuals who have experienced significant trauma, leading to conditions such as PTSD, anxiety disorders, and depression. As a therapist at Pathways of Wisdom, you will work closely with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults, each navigating their unique paths to healing.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, specifically within trauma-informed practices.

• Demonstrated knowledge of trauma-related disorders, trauma-informed treatment modalities, and resilience-building strategies.

• Experience delivering trauma-focused therapeutic techniques such as EMDR and TF-CBT.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, characterized by a compassionate and non-judgmental approach.

• Aptitude for remaining calm and effective in high-stress situations and crisis scenarios.
\n
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and general computer applications.
\n
• Ability to function well in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team setting.
