Work Environment\n

This role is performed remotely, allowing for flexibility while you engage with students and their families. The collaboration occurs through virtual meetings and consultations, where you will interact with multidisciplinary teams, including educators and therapists. The Hospice Center is the core of our operations, providing a comfortable environment for families as you engage in their children's mental health challenges. You would be expected to exhibit excellent communication skills to navigate virtual settings effectively.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct detailed mental health assessments to evaluate the needs of students with identified special needs.

• Develop individualized treatment plans that address mental health concerns while promoting emotional well-being underpinned by evidence-based practices.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, guiding students through personal development, emotional regulation, and coping strategies tailored to their specific challenges.

• Collaborate closely with educators, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to support.

• Provide crisis intervention support, addressing urgent mental health needs as they arise.
\n
• Offer psychoeducation to students and their families to increase understanding of mental health and available resources.

• Ensure compliance with legal and ethical documentation standards, maintaining accurate and timely records.

• Engage in continuous professional development activities and multidisciplinary team meetings to enhance collective support strategies.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary clientele includes students and families coping with varied mental health challenges related to ASD, learning disabilities, ADHD, emotional and behavioral disorders, and trauma. By utilizing a trauma-informed care approach, you will be vital in fostering an environment that promotes stability and growth. Your work will directly contribute to better integration and support for these students within their educational settings.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from a recognized and accredited institution.

• A current and valid LCSW licensure in the state of Kansas.
\n
• Two years of post-licensure experience providing mental health support, preferably in a school or educational setting.

• Demonstrated proficiency in mental health assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions.
\n
• Strong interpersonal abilities to maintain productive relationships with students, families, and other professionals.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, ensuring proficient time management in documentation and scheduling.

Preferred Experience\n

Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and knowledge of Best Practices in trauma-informed care is preferred, as is familiarity with educational systems and collaboration with school staff to enhance support services.

Compensation and Benefits\n
