Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting initial mental health assessments and documenting client cases thoroughly from the initial consultation through the treatment process.

• Evaluating clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health, with a focus on understanding their unique circumstances and needs.
\n
• Designing tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring that each plan is culturally sensitive and clinically appropriate.

• Facilitating individual and group therapy sessions that empower clients to express their thoughts and feelings in a safe environment.
\n
• Monitoring treatment progress and making necessary adjustments to ensure optimal client outcomes.
\n
• Collaborating closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, doctors, social workers, and nurses, to develop comprehensive intervention plans.

• Following up with healthcare providers for clients who require inpatient care, ensuring continuity in their treatment.
\n
• Identifying potential behavioral impediments to recovery and implementing strategies to mitigate these challenges.

• Providing guidance and assistance to family members and primary caregivers, equipping them with tools to support their loved ones effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily work with a diverse clientele, including individuals facing a variety of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and relationship conflicts. Our focus is on providing compassionate care that recognizes the unique experiences of each client, and you will have the opportunity to help enhance their overall quality of life.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a LMFT, LMHC, or LICSW in the state of Washington.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• A comprehensive understanding of therapeutic best practices and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and empathetically.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience as a mental health counselor, preferably in a community health setting.

• Familiarity with modern electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR.
\n
• Experience with co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions, as well as substance use disorders.

• An understanding of the guidelines set by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) regarding ethical practices in counseling.

• Knowledge of the impact of psychotropic medications on client health and treatment outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits\n
