Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to identify the unique psychological and emotional needs of older adults, employing a holistic view of their health.

• Design and execute individualized treatment plans that factor in cognitive changes, physical health issues, and social dynamics affecting patient well-being.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and family therapy, to support patients confronting geriatric psychiatric conditions.

• Work collaboratively with geriatric psychiatrists to ensure a comprehensive care plan that integrates mental, medical, and social services for patients.

• Provide crisis intervention during mental health emergencies, ensuring that elderly patients receive immediate and supportive care.

• Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and community resources available for additional support.

• Maintain thorough and confidential records in compliance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems effectively.

• Actively participate in team meetings and case consultations, contributing insights and updates on patient progress and challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Qualifications\n

• A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Texas.

• Strong knowledge of geriatric mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities tailored for older adults.
