Work Environment\n

As a remote position, the Mental Health Counselor will leverage telehealth technology to connect with clients, ensuring accessibility and convenience. You will work Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with some flexibility for evening shifts based on client availability. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments of clients seeking treatment for substance use disorders to identify their specific needs, strengths, and recovery goals.

• Develop personalized treatment plans that integrate evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to each client's circumstances.

• Facilitate individual counseling sessions incorporating motivational interviewing techniques and cognitive-behavioral therapy aimed at encouraging client engagement and progress.

• Lead group therapy sessions that promote shared experiences and support, helping clients to build a sense of community and understanding.

• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, addiction medicine specialists, and multidisciplinary team members to provide integrated care, ensuring a holistic approach to treatment.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support, equipping clients with tools to manage substance-related emergencies effectively.

• Educate clients and their families about addiction challenges, recovery methods, and local community resources available for additional support.

• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of client interactions and treatment histories in line with legal and ethical standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role focuses on supporting individuals confronting substance use disorders, ranging from those in early recovery to individuals dealing with chronic addiction challenges. Your expertise will help these clients navigate their recovery paths, fostering resilience and empowering them to achieve their personal and therapeutic goals.

Qualifications\n

• Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

• Possess a current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Oregon.
\n
• Demonstrated knowledge of addiction treatment principles, evidence-based practices, and recovery-oriented care.

• Experience providing both individual and group therapy within a substance use treatment context.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating empathy, non-judgment, and cultural competence.

• Competency in maintaining professional boundaries and ensuring patient confidentiality in all interactions.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer applications for documentation and communication.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a collaborative care environment.
