Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough client assessments through initial interviews and consultations, meticulously documenting mental health histories, behavior, and emotional states.

• Develop individualized treatment plans that outline therapeutic goals and interventions for individuals, couples, families, and groups based on clinical evaluations.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions that engage clients in meaningful dialogues, therapeutic exercises, and coping strategies.

• Maintain ongoing monitoring and evaluation of client progress throughout the treatment journey, adjusting plans as necessary to best meet client needs.

• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to create comprehensive intervention plans.

• Manage referrals and follow-ups for clients requiring additional services, ensuring a seamless transition across various levels of care.

• Educate and guide family members and primary caregivers in understanding and addressing mental health challenges faced by their loved ones.

• Proactively identify behaviors that hinder recovery and implement preventative strategies to foster ongoing healing and stability.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The mental health counselor will work with a diverse population that includes individuals facing a range of issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, and substance use disorders. Our clinic emphasizes a holistic approach, recognizing the importance of understanding the underlying physical and emotional health conditions that affect overall well-being.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current, valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Oregon.

• Successful completion of necessary examinations, including a passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Strong proficiency and familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to ensure accurate documentation and data management.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for effective collaboration with clients and healthcare professionals alike.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills combined with a genuine compassion for helping others navigate their mental health journeys.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working as a mental health counselor, particularly in a community health setting or similar environment.

• Experience managing and addressing complex emotional and behavioral challenges relating to various underlying health conditions and substance use disorders.

• Familiarity with best practices set forth by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• In-depth understanding of the therapeutic effects of medications prescribed by medical specialists that impact mental health.

Compensation and Benefits\n

Our organization offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 per year, in addition to a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.
