Key Responsibilities\n

• Assessment: Conduct thorough evaluations of clients presenting with mood disorders. Gather comprehensive histories and understand psychosocial factors that may impact their mental health.

• Diagnosis: Use the DSM-5 and other diagnostic manuals to accurately diagnose clients, forming a strong foundation for effective treatment.

• Treatment Planning: Create individualized treatment strategies in consultation with clients, ensuring that each plan is evidence-based and tailored to meet their specific goals.

• Psychotherapy: Deliver a range of evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), helping clients navigate their challenges and progress towards recovery.

• Medication Management Collaboration: Actively collaborate with the supervising psychiatrist to coordinate care involving medication management. Provide insights on medication efficacy and client adherence.

• Crisis Intervention: Offer immediate support to clients experiencing acute psychiatric crises, utilizing therapeutic techniques to stabilize and support them through challenging situations.

• Documentation and Record-Keeping: Ensure that clinical documentation is accurate and up-to-date, including detail-oriented progress notes and treatment records, adhering to ethical standards.

• Collaboration and Consultation: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals, including psychologists and social workers, to provide comprehensive care for clients.

• Client Education and Support: Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, therapeutic options, and self-care strategies, encouraging proactive involvement in their treatment.

• Professional Ethics: Uphold the highest standards of ethical practice in all clinical work, including maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries.

• Quality Improvement and Outcome Monitoring: Participate in initiatives aimed at improving treatment efficacy and client outcomes by monitoring and evaluating the success of various interventions.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on individuals struggling with mood disorders, including but not limited to depression and bipolar disorder. You will work with clients of various ages and backgrounds, offering a compassionate and understanding environment where they can feel safe to explore their mental health challenges.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as either an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience, with a preference for candidates specializing in mood disorders.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary range for this position is between USD 100,000 and 105,000 per year, commensurate with experience, along with performance-based bonuses.
