Work Environment

This position is based onsite at a local school in Dallas, Texas, facilitating easy access to our pediatric patients during their school hours. Our operational hours are Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm, allowing for a work-life balance desirable for all healthcare practitioners.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments for children within the spectrum of newborns, toddlers, and adolescents, to determine their healthcare needs without exclusively relying on symptom checklists.
• Provide ongoing care including acute and chronic illness management. For instance, you will address common pediatric conditions and ensure appropriate treatments are administered and monitored.
• Perform a variety of clinical procedures such as administering immunizations, performing suture removal, wound care, and infection management, ensuring a safe and reassuring experience for children and their families.
• Collaborate with physicians to develop and implement individualized patient management plans, document patient progress notes meticulously, and ensure continuity of care.
• Conduct medical chart reviews to facilitate effective follow-up and ensure quality assurance standards are consistently met.
• Provide education, counseling, and support to patients and families regarding health maintenance, development milestones, and chronic disease management strategies.
• Maintain complete medical records for all patients, documenting all interactions, treatments provided, and follow-up referrals while participating in regular meetings to optimize care delivery.
• Adhere to productivity standards set by the Chief Medical Officer, ensuring efficient and effective patient care is prioritized.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care and optimizing operational efficiencies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on children ranging from infancy to young adulthood, addressing their diverse healthcare needs. Our pediatric practice is dedicated to preventative care, early diagnosis, and intervention strategies to ensure healthy development and mitigate long-term health issues.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, leading to a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, and advanced degrees such as a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) with the Board of Nursing in Texas.
• Successful certification by a recognized board such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, or equivalent pediatric nursing certification.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) if applicable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate within a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of related experience in pediatric nursing is preferred, particularly in a clinical setting that emphasizes preventive care and chronic disease management.
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary team, facilitating a cohesive approach to patient care.

Compensation and Benefits
