Key Responsibilities

As a Pediatric Physical Therapist at Effective Movement Therapy, your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating comprehensive patient care by collaborating with office staff, other healthcare providers, and families to create cohesive treatment plans.
• Maintaining open lines of communication with pediatric patients and their families regarding treatment progress, addressing any concerns, and discussing home exercise programs.
• Providing referrals to additional support services, including specialists and community resources, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care.
• Consulting with physicians regarding patient progress and treatment updates, while meticulously documenting all patient records in accordance with legal and health standards.
• Restoring and maintaining functional abilities, improving mobility, alleviating pain, and working to prevent or limit permanent disabilities using evidence-based therapeutic practices.
• Conducting thorough evaluations and administering tailored remedial treatments while focusing intensely on the patient's unique needs.
• Delivering clinical treatments that include screenings, detailed evaluations, direct therapeutic interventions, and extensive training and counseling for families regarding their child's progress and discharge planning.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on pediatric patients ranging from infants to adolescents, each presenting unique challenges that require specialized therapeutic approaches. Our clinic is committed to addressing a wide range of conditions, including developmental delays, musculoskeletal injuries, and neurological disorders. Your expertise will directly contribute to improving the health and functional status of these young patients.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following:

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy is required, although a Master's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred.
• A current Florida Physical Therapist (PT) License.
• At least one year of clinical experience in an acute care hospital or pediatric rehabilitation setting.
• Strong proficiency in trigger point therapy techniques and comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology specifically related to pediatric care.
• The capability and desire to work effectively with children and their families, demonstrating patience and understanding.
• Familiarity with hospital medicine practices and a commitment to continuous professional development.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, additional qualifications and experiences that would enhance a candidate's application include:

• Experience in pediatric therapy settings, especially working with diverse patient populations.
• Advanced training or certifications in specialized therapeutic methods related to pediatric physical therapy.

Compensation and Benefits
