Key Responsibilities\n

• Engage actively in community outreach programs aimed at promoting holistic wellness and strengthening the fabric of our diverse community.

• Participate in multidisciplinary consultation meetings where clinical insights and experiences are shared, enhancing the collective expertise of the team.

• Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation to maintain compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.

• Provide direct clinical services, including behavioral health assessments, counseling sessions, and comprehensive case management tailored to support the needs of Black birthing families.

• Collaborate with members of prenatal care teams, including medical professionals, midwives, and doulas, to facilitate integrated healthcare delivery.
\n
• Co-facilitate educational sessions on childbirth and postpartum support, working alongside experienced birth workers to enhance client education and empowerment.
\n
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of service delivery through feedback and participation in organizational meetings and initiatives.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The focus of this role is to provide essential mental health support to Black birthing families, a demographic historically underserved in many healthcare contexts. The counselor will engage with these families to address mental health challenges related to pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, ensuring culturally responsive and affirming care. Your work will help bridge gaps in access and promote lasting health and wellness among these communities.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in social work or a related behavioral science from an accredited institution is required.

• Current licensure as a LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC in the state of California is mandatory.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with a diverse clientele and interdisciplinary team members.

• Proficient in managing workload independently while also knowing when to ask for support and guidance.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working with perinatal populations and an understanding of the unique challenges faced by birthing individuals and families.

• Familiarity with case management practices and community resources specific to maternal and child health.

• Experience in leading group sessions or support groups is a plus.
