Key Responsibilities\n

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that take into account the unique developmental stages and family dynamics of each patient.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to address a range of mental health challenges faced by young individuals, fostering resilience and personal growth.

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to evaluate the emotional and psychological needs of children and adolescents, ensuring a thorough understanding of their unique situations.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions, empowering parents and caregivers to create nurturing environments that support their child’s mental health.

• Collaborate with child psychiatrists and interdisciplinary teams to provide integrated and holistic care, ensuring all aspects of a patient's treatment are thoughtfully coordinated.

• Offer crisis intervention support during mental health emergencies and help facilitate a safe environment for children and their families during these challenging times.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health disorders, treatment options available in the community, and tools for coping and resilience.

• Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely documentation in compliance with all legal and ethical standards, leveraging electronic health record (EHR) systems.

• Engage in regular team meetings, case consultations, and professional development activities to stay current with clinical best practices and advancements in child and adolescent psychiatry.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The mental health counselor will primarily focus on supporting children and adolescents facing various mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders. You will play a crucial role in fostering emotional stability and improving the overall quality of life for your young clients and their families by providing tailored therapeutic support designed to meet their unique needs.

Qualifications\n

• A master’s degree in counseling, clinical psychology, social work, rehabilitation counseling, or a closely related field is required.
\n
• Current licensure as either a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in California is mandatory. An associate’s license is not acceptable as it cannot be billed through Medicare.

• A strong foundation in child and adolescent mental health disorders, evidence-based practices, and therapeutic modalities is essential.
\n
• Demonstrated experience providing individual and family therapy to children and adolescents.
\n
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to connect compassionately with children, adolescents, and their families.
\n
• Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems, with strong computer application skills.
\n
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure coordinated care.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience with community-based mental health services or previous work in a clinic setting is advantageous.
