Work Environment\n

This position is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility in work hours while maintaining a consistent Monday to Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. A part of our outpatient team, this role requires some adaptability to meet patient needs that may necessitate modifications to standard scheduling. Our outpatient office is equipped with modern technology, facilitating effective communication and documentation through electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments for new patients to evaluate their trauma history and current mental health needs.

• Design and develop tailored treatment plans that focus on methods of trauma recovery and resilience-building, tracking client progress and adjusting plans as needed.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions to assist clients in processing their trauma, developing effective coping strategies, and fostering healing.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to ensure comprehensive and integrated care for patients.

• Provide crisis intervention support during trauma-related emergencies, demonstrating calmness and professionalism.

• Educate clients and their families about trauma responses and coping strategies, empowering them with knowledge and resources.

• Ensure all patient documentation aligns with legal and ethical standards, maintaining confidentiality at all times.

• Participate in regular case consultations and team meetings to discuss patient progress and share innovative treatment strategies.

• Stay informed on the latest research and practices in trauma therapy to enhance service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our mental health therapist will focus on a diverse population including individuals suffering from trauma-related issues such as PTSD, complex trauma, and various dissociative disorders. Many of our clients seek help after experiencing significant life events, and it is crucial that our therapist can provide compassionate, informed care that is responsive to the unique needs of each individual.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current licensure as either a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Psychologist, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of California.

• At least 2 years of post-licensure experience in a mental health setting is preferred, especially experience with trauma-focused therapies.

• Strong foundational knowledge of trauma-related disorders, treatment modalities, and approaches that enhance resilience.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a compassionate, non-judgmental demeanor towards clients.

• Capabilities to manage high-stress situations with composure and professionalism.
\n
• Proficiency in electronic record systems and basic computer applications is crucial.

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing ideas and expertise.

Preferred Experience\n

We value experience that includes working with patients suffering from complex trauma and employing trauma-informed care practices. Previous roles that involved facilitation of both individual and group therapeutic sessions will be a significant advantage. Compensation and Benefits\n
