Work Environment

This position is based in a hospital environment located in Perth Amboy. You will work Monday through Friday, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. The setting requires a proactive approach and adaptability, as you will engage with a diverse patient population that may include individuals with chronic illnesses, post-operative recovery needs, and various mobility challenges. Key Responsibilities

• Direct physical therapy treatment to prevent disability, alleviate pain, and restore or improve muscle function as part of each patient's individualized care plan.
• Oversee the implementation of therapy programs by physical therapy assistants, ensuring adherence to established plans of care.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients' functional capabilities through diagnostic and prognostic testing of muscles, nerves, joints, and their overall functional abilities.
• Assess the home environment where rehabilitation occurs, making recommendations aimed at increasing patients' independence.
• Administer therapeutic exercises, providing guidance and motivation to patients during both manual and non-manual activities.
• Utilize physical agents such as traction and massage as part of the treatment regimen to achieve optimal therapeutic effects.
• Fit and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices for patients, recommending necessary modifications in consultation with physicians.
• Participate actively in interdisciplinary team meetings, contributing insights that help shape the holistic treatment approach for each patient.
• Document clinical findings, progress notes, and treatment summaries while adhering to federal and state regulations.
• Provide training and instruction to patients and families on managing their rehabilitation programs and the safe use of therapy-related equipment.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physical Therapist at High Energy Body & Home Care, you will primarily work with patients who are recovering from surgical procedures, managing chronic pain, or experiencing mobility impairments. Your expertise will be crucial for patients requiring physical rehabilitation services to navigate daily activities safely and efficiently. Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a related field.
• Current licensure to practice physical therapy in New Jersey, maintaining good standing.
• At least one year of experience in a physical therapy role, particularly in hospital or home care settings, is required.
• Current CPR certification and familiarity with federal and state regulations governing physical therapy practices.
• Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to engage effectively with patients and their families.
• Positive attitude and teamwork spirit to integrate seamlessly into our dedicated healthcare team.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in a home healthcare or acute care setting is preferred but not mandatory.
• Exposure to interdisciplinary collaboration in patient case management will be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
