Work Environment\n

This full-time position allows you the flexibility of remote work while being part of a supportive and collaborative team. You will have the opportunity to engage virtually with colleagues and attend meetings while providing outpatient care to our clients. Our work hours are typical Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts as necessary based on patient needs, ensuring that you can adapt your schedule for effective patient care.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments tailored to the unique emotional and psychological needs of older adults, evaluating their overall mental wellness and specific challenges.

• Create and implement individualized treatment plans that reflect the diverse needs of each patient, considering factors such as cognitive health, physical conditions, and social environments.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including but not limited to individual and family therapy, aimed at treating psychiatric conditions prevalent among the geriatric population.

• Work closely with geriatric psychiatrists and other health professionals to ensure a unified and holistic approach to patient care, sharing insights and treatment strategies regularly.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention when necessary, offering vital support during mental health emergencies among elderly patients.

• Educate patients and their families regarding mental health conditions and treatment options, as well as available community resources that can aid in their care journey.

• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in line with legal and ethical standards, ensuring continuity of care through effective record-keeping.

• Participate actively in team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development activities to stay current with the latest research and treatment modalities in geriatric psychiatry.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on older adults dealing with varied mental health issues. This includes conditions such as depression, anxiety, and cognitive impairments tied to dementia. By employing tailored therapeutic approaches and building meaningful relationships, you will greatly contribute to improving their quality of life.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Georgia.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling with a preference for experience in a geriatric context.

• In-depth knowledge of geriatric mental health disorders and familiarity with evidence-based treatment options and interventions.

• Proven experience delivering quality individual and family therapy to elderly clients.
\n
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, along with a profound empathy for patient experiences.

• Proficient in electronic health record systems, supporting seamless documentation and patient management.
\n
• A collaborative spirit to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience\n

While two years of experience is the minimum requirement, additional experience within geriatric psychiatry or complex mental health cases is a preferred asset. Experience using technology to enhance patient care is also beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits\n

Medway Therapy Clinic offers a competitive salary range of USD 75,000 to 100,000 per year, reflective of experience and qualifications.
