Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients experiencing various types of pain, including performing detailed interviews, physical examinations, and documenting findings in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Collaborate closely with two board-certified pain management specialists to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
• Order appropriate laboratory tests, imaging studies, and specialty consultations as required for accurate diagnosis and treatment.
• Assist in gathering and analyzing data to evaluate the effectiveness of treatments administered at the clinic, continually striving for improvements in patient care outcomes.
• Communicate results of diagnostic tests and treatment goals to patients in an empathetic and clear manner, ensuring they understand their healthcare options.
• Manage the refilling of non-controlled pain medications, providing continuity of care while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with patients suffering from chronic pain, ranging from acute post-surgical discomfort to complex, long-term pain syndromes. The role demands not only strong clinical expertise but also an empathic approach, as many patients seek relief from conditions that significantly impact their quality of life. Your ability to establish rapport and trust will be crucial in facilitating their healthcare journeys.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid state license as a Physician Assistant.
• A minimum of two to five years of professional clinical experience in a healthcare setting is required, with a strong preference for backgrounds in pain management or related fields.
• Proficiency in phlebotomy is essential to assist in delivering hands-on patient care.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities are necessary to efficiently manage a diverse patient caseload.
• Familiarity with Windows-based computer systems and electronic medical record software is required for documentation and patient management.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey instructions and medical information to patients and their families.
• A compassionate demeanor with superior listening skills to ensure that patients feel heard and understood during their visits.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a surgical or procedural setting is a plus.
