Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews and document all case histories from the first consultation to treatment completion, ensuring all information is accurate and confidential.

• Evaluate and assess clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health through structured interviews and standardized screening tools.

• Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans addressing the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring plans are adaptable as client needs evolve.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, implementing evidence-based therapeutic techniques that are sensitive to the needs of diverse populations.

• Monitor client progress throughout their treatment plans, adjusting interventions based on feedback and observable outcomes to maximize effectiveness.

• Collaborate with fellow healthcare professionals on comprehensive intervention plans, fostering a multidisciplinary approach to mental health care.

• Maintain regular follow-ups with psychiatrists and other attending physicians for clients who have had hospital admissions to ensure continuity of care.

• Identify and safeguard against behaviors that may hinder recovery, offering proactive strategies to clients and their families.

• Support family members and primary caregivers by equipping them with tools to manage mental health challenges effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our clients encompass a diverse group, including individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and various emotional and behavioral health issues. As a Mental Health Counselor at Safe Place Counseling Center, you will work closely with clients from different backgrounds, ages, and walks of life, providing culturally competent care.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution, with a strong foundation in psychological theories and practices.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Pennsylvania.

• Achievement of a passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Proven previous experience in a mental health counseling role, with a focus on outcome-oriented therapeutic practices.

• Familiarity and proficiency with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, for effective documentation and client management.
\n
• Deep understanding of addiction disorders, as well as co-existing physical and emotional health conditions.
\n
• Knowledge of best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and compassionate manner.

• Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and the ability to build trusting relationships with clients.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working with a variety of mental health challenges, including substance use disorders.

• Expertise in group facilitation techniques and experience leading therapeutic groups.

Compensation and Benefits\n
