Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations during initial client consultations, documenting findings for ongoing reference.

• Develop detailed, tailored treatment plans that address the specific needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.

• Facilitate both individual therapy and group therapy sessions, employing a range of therapeutic modalities to enhance client engagement and therapeutic outcomes.

• Monitor client progress throughout the treatment process, adjusting intervention strategies as needed based on client feedback and progress notes.

• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as psychiatrists and social workers, to coordinate comprehensive care and ensure holistic treatment approaches.

• Follow up with clients post-treatment and manage referrals to ensure continuity of care and address any ongoing mental or behavioral health needs.

• Assist clients and their family members in understanding and managing mental health challenges, providing support and education to enhance family dynamics and recovery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Sensational Sunshine Behavioral Health, you will work with a diverse client population facing various mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. You will engage with clients from different backgrounds and age groups, adapting your approach to meet their unique needs and circumstances.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current, valid licensure as a LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of New Jersey.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Strong understanding of best practices in mental health counseling, including familiarity with the guidelines established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working in a clinical setting as a mental health counselor.

• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, with experience in AVATAR or similar software.
