Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial and ongoing mental health assessments to identify the needs and strengths of children and adolescents.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions to address the specific challenges faced by young individuals, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and play therapy.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions designed to strengthen the support network around the child, while ensuring families are educated about mental health needs.

• Provide crisis intervention and manage mental health emergencies with empathy and efficiency.

• Maintain thorough and confidential documentation as required by legal and ethical standards, using our electronic health record (EHR) system.

• Regularly collaborate with child psychiatrists and multidisciplinary team members to provide holistic care.

• Participate actively in team meetings, sharing insights from your sessions that may benefit the collective understanding of patient needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Therapist will work primarily with young patients, ages 5 to 18, including those facing challenges such as depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, and other behavioral issues. We prioritize creating a safe and supportive atmosphere, recognizing the unique developmental needs of this age group. You will also support their families by educating them about mental health issues and treatment options, fostering a comprehensive support network.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Valid licensure as either an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of New York.

• At least two years of post-licensure experience working with children and adolescents in a mental health setting.

• Strong understanding of child and adolescent mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities.

• Exceptional communication skills and a compassionate approach to therapy, with the ability to connect effectively with both young patients and their families.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this role is competitive, ranging from USD 75,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
