Key Responsibilities\n

• Conducting Comprehensive Psychosocial Assessments: Perform thorough evaluations, identifying psychosocial issues affecting treatment outcomes while adhering to ethical standards and best practices.

• Clinical Interventions: Provide supportive counseling for students and families, assist with care transitions, and facilitate discussions around sensitive topics like end-of-life decisions or significant lifestyle changes.

• Collaboration and Discharge Planning: Work closely with case managers to ensure the transition of care is smooth and effectively coordinated, especially for high-risk students requiring additional support.

• Legal and Ethical Compliance: Ensure all clinical activities comply with relevant laws and ethical guidelines, including but not limited to, issues of suspected abuse or neglect and maintaining patient rights.

• Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records as per organizational policies, including interdisciplinary care plans and social service progress notes.

• Training and In-Service: Provide educational sessions on psychosocial issues to fellow staff, enhancing their understanding and ability to support students in distress.

• Quality Improvement Initiatives: Participate in developing and monitoring quality metrics that focus on improving the social work services provided to our student population.

• Engagement in Organizational Activities: Contribute to initiatives during Social Work Month and assist in leading support groups and educational programs for families and community partners.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The focus of this role is on a diverse student body, including those grappling with emotional challenges, behavioral issues, and familial stressors. Social Workers will address a range of psychosocial factors that can affect students' academic and social functioning, striving to foster resilience and support academic success.

Qualifications\n

• Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited program.

• At least two years of experience in a medical setting, with a preferred focus on pediatric or school environments.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English to effectively engage with students, families, and professionals.

• Proven skills in analytical thinking, customer service, and collaborative teamwork.

• Capability to work independently and contribute positively to multi-disciplinary teams.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working within oncology settings or with students affected by chronic illness is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits\n
