Work Environment\n

This position is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility in your work setting while still enabling collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Our operational hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with some evening hours required on a rotating basis to accommodate client appointments. Despite the remote nature of the role, you will engage in regular video conferences and virtual consultations to ensure seamless communication and coordination with team members and clients.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct detailed, comprehensive assessments that evaluate clients' mental health and substance use needs, effectively identifying co-occurring disorders.

• Collaborate closely with clients to create personalized treatment plans that integrate evidence-based therapies, ensuring that both mental health and substance use issues are addressed thoroughly.

• Deliver individual and group therapeutic sessions aimed at enhancing clients’ coping mechanisms, providing relapse prevention strategies, and fostering emotional regulation skills.

• Work alongside psychiatrists, nurses, and addiction specialists within a multidisciplinary framework, providing consistent, holistic care tailored to individual client needs.

• Implement motivational interviewing techniques and ongoing substance use monitoring to support clients in their recovery journey effectively.

• Educate clients and family members about the intricate relationship between mental health and substance use disorders, emphasizing the significance of adherence to treatment plans.

• Maintain precise documentation of client interactions, treatment progress, interventions, and referrals, ensuring compliance with ethical and legal standards.

• Participate actively in case conferences, staff meetings, and professional training, to remain up-to-date with innovations in the treatment of co-occurring disorders.

Your primary focus will be on individuals who are grappling with co-occurring disorders, which often include complex interplays of mental health concerns and substance use issues. Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, LCSW-R, or LMFT in the state of New York.

• Demonstrated proficiency with evidence-based therapeutic methodologies applicable to co-occurring disorders, including Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment and Motivational Interviewing.

• A solid understanding of mental health and substance use disorder dynamics.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to foster cooperation within a diverse interdisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience\n

• Preference will be given to those with more than two years of experience working in mental health counseling, particularly in outpatient settings.

• Experience with telehealth platforms and electronic health record systems will be an advantage.
