Regular team meetings will take place through secure video conferencing to ensure everyone is informed and aligned on patient care strategies and treatment protocols.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health evaluations to determine the unique psychosocial needs of elderly clients, considering the complexities of aging.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that address cognitive changes, emotional challenges, and social circumstances.

• Provide evidence-based therapy, including individual and family sessions, employing approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and supportive psychotherapy.

• Collaborate closely with geriatric psychiatrists and interdisciplinary teams to ensure a streamlined approach to mental health care.

• Act as a first responder during mental health crises, providing immediate support to elderly clients and families in distress.

• Educate clients and their families on mental health issues, potential treatment paths, and available community resources.

• Maintain precise and confidential documentation in line with HIPAA regulations and ethical requirements.

• Participate actively in case reviews, team planning sessions, and ongoing professional development opportunities.

• Continuously engage with the latest research and advancements within the field of geriatric psychiatry, integrating this knowledge into practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position mainly focuses on the elderly population, addressing a spectrum of mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, dementia-related disorders, and adjustment difficulties due to life changes. By understanding and addressing the specific mental health challenges faced by older adults, your role will significantly contribute to enhancing their emotional and psychological well-being.

Qualifications\n

• A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Active and valid license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Psychologist in California.

• Demonstrated knowledge of geriatric mental health disorders and relevant therapeutic modalities.

• Exceptional communication skills, showcasing empathy and a strong patient focus.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems to document clinical interactions and maintain patient confidentiality.
