Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health evaluations during initial consultations, establishing a trusting rapport with clients.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that may include individual, couple, or group therapy tailored to the specific needs of each client.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing a variety of therapeutic techniques and interventions.
• Document client progress meticulously, adjusting treatment modalities based on ongoing assessments and feedback.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses, to ensure comprehensive care and effective intervention strategies.
• Monitor treatment outcomes closely, identifying barriers to progress and implementing solutions swiftly.
• Assist families by providing educational resources and strategies for managing mental health challenges, empowering them to support their loved ones effectively.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of psychotherapy advancements and actively contribute to discussions on improving clinical practices within the organization.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse client population, including individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. Our focus on individualized care allows us to provide targeted interventions that not only address symptoms but also enhance overall emotional well-being. Your role will directly influence our clients’ recovery journeys, paving the way for healthier coping strategies and improved mental health outcomes.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Valid and current licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent in the state of New York.
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Strong proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly AVATAR or similar platforms.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating the ability to connect with clients and their families effectively.
• A compassionate demeanor with robust interpersonal skills, fostering a supportive atmosphere for clients.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience as a mental health counselor in a clinical or outpatient setting.
• Knowledge and understanding of comorbid physical and emotional health conditions, including addiction disorders.
• Familiarity with best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• Experience in delivering telehealth services and adapting therapeutic techniques for remote settings.

Compensation and Benefits
