As a counselor, you will provide critical support to clients, aiding in the enhancement of their emotional, mental, and physical wellness through comprehensive therapeutic interventions delivered via telehealth.

Key Responsibilities\n

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Collaborating with primary care practitioners to identify, treat, and manage psychological and psychosocial issues, thereby enhancing the efficacy of the healthcare team.

• Conducting thorough patient intakes focused on diagnostic and functional evaluations, subsequently developing therapy objectives and making informed treatment recommendations.
\n
• Providing immediate and focused mental health interventions to individuals requiring crisis support.
\n
• Advising primary care teams on the appropriate mental health services required for patients, facilitating timely and effective referrals.
\n
• Conducting regular follow-up assessments to track patient progress and adjust treatment plans based on their evolving needs.
\n
• Working with patients to create tailored relapse prevention strategies and support systems.
\n
• Identifying at-risk patients and participating in the development of preventative care programs that meet their unique needs.
\n
• Coordinating and supervising the delivery of mental health care, collaborating with additional treatment providers as appropriate, always with patient consent.
\n
• Maintaining accurate and detailed documentation of patient progress and treatment information in line with agency and compliance standards.
\n
• Engaging proactively with primary care providers to keep them informed of patient needs and collaborative treatment strategies.
\n
• Employing interventions aimed at promoting behavioral changes in patients who are at risk of or experiencing health issues, fostering healthier lifestyle choices.
\n
• Empowering patients through education and self-management skills, giving them greater agency in their treatment and recovery.
\n
• Consulting with management and team members regarding the effectiveness of behavioral services and identification of potential program enhancements.
\n
• Assisting patients in adhering to recommended medical therapies from their primary providers, including addressing any adverse pharmaceutical effects.
\n
• Upholding the Clinical Professionals' Code of Ethics and fulfilling additional duties as assigned.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our counselors work with a diverse patient population, addressing a variety of mental health issues that span across different demographics and backgrounds. You will engage with individuals experiencing conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and other psychological disturbances, always with a patient-centered focus that respects their unique experiences and challenges.

Qualifications\n

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• A Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling or a related field.
\n
• A valid LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) license in New Jersey.
\n
• Extensive knowledge and experience in mental health evaluation, treatment planning, and various therapeutic modalities, including family and group therapy.

• Strong understanding of developmental psychopathology and DSM-IV diagnoses.
\n
• Competence in both English and Spanish is preferred, enhancing communication with a broader patient base.
\n
• Robust mental and physical health to handle the responsibilities of the role.
\n
• Comprehensive awareness of the social implications of mental illnesses, coupled with familiarity with community resources that support patient needs.
\n
• Proficient in psychodiagnostics and several psychotherapy approaches.

Preferred Experience\n

Experience working in a telehealth environment is an asset, alongside demonstrated success in collaborative treatment planning and intervention implementation. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and outcomes-based evaluations will enhance your effectiveness in this role.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 90,000 – 105,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include a sign-on bonus, flexible scheduling options, professional development resources, and opportunities for continuing education.
