Work Environment

As a Physical Therapist in our home care setting, you will work directly within patients' residences, which allows for customized and convenient treatment plans tailored to their unique needs. This role offers flexibility in scheduling, with a Monday-to-Friday work week, allowing you to choose hours that best fit your lifestyle while effectively meeting patients' needs.

Key Responsibilities

Your daily tasks will include but are not limited to:

• Conducting thorough evaluations of patients to understand their physical conditions and symptoms, including walking, strength, and functional capabilities.
• Diagnosing movement dysfunctions and collaborating with patients to develop individualized treatment plans that reflect their specific goals.
• Instructing patients on the correct use of therapeutic exercises and equipment, ensuring they understand how to perform these activities safely and effectively.
• Implementing evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including manual therapy, therapeutic modalities, and exercise therapy, to facilitate recovery and promote healing.
• Tracking patient progress by maintaining comprehensive records related to therapy goals, achievements, and necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
• Providing family education regarding in-home exercises and ongoing treatment strategies aimed at enhancing patient recovery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work with a diverse patient population, including children and adults, each with varying rehabilitation needs. Our home care model allows you to develop meaningful relationships with clients, fostering trust and improving their adherence to treatment programs. Your efforts will contribute directly to improving patients' quality of life and mobility, helping them live more independently.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• A valid Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree.
• Active licensure to practice as a Physical Therapist in the state of Virginia.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with patients and families.
• Competence in using word processing and electronic medical record systems.
• A flexible attitude and the ability to adapt to the varied schedules and needs of patients.

Preferred Experience
