Work Environment

Our Norfolk rehabilitation facility is designed to provide a comfortable and modern setting where patients can focus on their recovery. As a key member of our physical therapy team, you will enjoy a positive work culture that prioritizes collaboration and continuous learning. The position is onsite, and standard working hours are Monday through Friday from either 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, ensuring a balanced work-life schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients referred by physicians, developing comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
• Implement and monitor a variety of therapeutic strategies, utilizing hands-on techniques and exercise regimens to enhance recovery for patients across multiple specialties, including orthopedic, pediatric, neurologic, and sports medicine.
• Maintain exceptionally high standards of customer service and engagement, ensuring that patients feel supported and informed during their rehabilitation process.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to create an integrated approach to patient care, maximizing treatment outcomes through evidence-based care strategies.
• Provide skilled therapeutic interventions in various settings, including home visits, ensuring alignment with physician treatment plans to facilitate meaningful improvements in patient functional abilities.
• Educate and empower patients and their caregivers, providing essential training in exercises and techniques to aid in the recovery process.
• Meet utilization targets and contribute actively to the clinic's operational goals.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with diverse patient demographics, focusing primarily on those undergoing orthopedic rehabilitation. This includes a wide range of cases from post-surgical recovery to injury prevention. Your role will involve fostering positive relationships with patients, ensuring they feel comfortable and confident throughout their treatment process, ultimately striving for them to exceed their functional goals.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required.
• Current and valid State License in Physical Therapy is essential.
• A minimum of two years of relevant experience in a clinical setting is necessary to ensure familiarity with varied patient needs.
• Certification in Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association is mandatory for patient safety.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are important for effective patient interaction and teamwork.
• Proficiency in word processing and basic computer skills to manage documentation and patient records is required.
• A commitment to building strong relationships within the patient community and a desire to make a positive impact in their lives are vital characteristics for our team.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with specific therapeutic modalities and techniques relevant to orthopedic rehabilitation will be beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits
