Work Environment

This is an onsite position located in our cutting-edge rehabilitation facility in Avenel, New Jersey. Key Responsibilities

• Direct physical therapy interventions aimed at preventing disability, alleviating pain, and restoring optimal muscle function. You will create individualized care plans based on each client's specific needs and capabilities.
• Oversee and mentor physical therapy assistants, ensuring they implement the prescribed plan of care effectively and remain aligned with best practices.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of clients' physical abilities through diagnostic testing related to their muscle, nerve, and joint function.
• Assess the home environment where rehab sessions are conducted, providing recommendations to enhance the client's independence.
• Administer therapeutic exercises, including both manual and non-manual techniques, ensuring clients are engaged and motivated throughout their recovery journey.
• Utilize physical agents such as traction and massage to optimize therapeutic outcomes, tailoring treatments as needed based on patient responses.
• Evaluate, fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices, collaborating with physicians where necessary to enhance mobility and quality of life for clients.
• Participate actively in the development, review, and updating of a comprehensive care plan for each client in coordination with other healthcare professionals.
• Monitor and document clients' progress, communicating any changes in their conditions to physicians and case managers promptly, and recommending adjustments to treatment plans as required.
• Prepare detailed clinical records, including initial evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
• Engage as a vital member of the interdisciplinary team during case conferences, contributing insights and strategies to enhance the overall treatment of clients.
• Provide education and training to clients and their families regarding the use of physical therapy devices and the overall therapy program.
• Complete timely documentation for clinical records and payroll as per the branch policies.
• Be available for consultation and support to Physical Therapy Assistants during their treatment sessions with clients.
• Fulfill other duties as assigned to meet organizational objectives and improve service quality.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position primarily involves working with a diverse patient population, including those recovering from surgeries, managing chronic conditions, and those requiring rehabilitative services after injuries or accidents. Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• At least one year of experience working as a Physical Therapist, preferably in acute care or home care settings.
• Current physical therapy license in good standing for the state of New Jersey.
• Current CPR certification to ensure client safety during therapies.
• Valid driver's license and liability automobile insurance to facilitate travel to and from patients' homes.
• A strong commitment to clinical excellence, integrity, and a collaborative working environment.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a rehabilitation facility is highly desirable, which will prepare you for the challenges of this role.
• Prior experience in a multi-disciplinary healthcare team is a plus.
• Familiarity with OASIS and comfort in managing extensive documentation.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 100,000 to 120,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
