Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate clients' mental health and substance use statuses, identifying co-occurring disorders and creating a comprehensive understanding of their unique challenges.

• Collaborate directly with clients to formulate personalized treatment plans that integrate evidence-based interventions tailored to the specific interplay of mental health and substance use issues.

• Provide individual and group therapy sessions focused on equipping clients with essential coping skills, relapse prevention techniques, and strategies for emotional regulation.

• Effectively coordinate care in partnership with our multidisciplinary team, which includes psychiatrists, nurses, and addiction specialists, ensuring a holistic approach to treatment.

• Engage in regular substance use monitoring and employ motivational interviewing techniques to encourage client participation in their recovery process.

• Educate clients and their families about the relationship between mental health and substance use disorders, emphasizing the importance of maintaining treatment compliance and ongoing support.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of treatment progress, interventions, and referrals, adhering to ethical and legal guidelines established by the field.

• Participate proactively in case conferences, staff meetings, and ongoing training sessions to continually enhance skills in co-occurring disorder treatment.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will work primarily with individuals who are navigating the complexities of both mental health challenges and substance use disorders. This population often experiences heightened stigma and barriers to care, and your role will be pivotal in providing not only therapeutic support but also in fostering understanding and compassion as clients embark on their recovery journeys.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in California.
\n
• A solid foundation in evidence-based therapeutic approaches for co-occurring disorders, such as Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

• Strong understanding of the intersectionality between mental health and substance used disorders.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a collaborative interdisciplinary environment.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in an outpatient clinic or community health setting, working with clients experiencing co-occurring disorders.

• Knowledge of local resources and support services available for individuals coping with mental health and substance use issues.

• Prior experience in conducting group therapy sessions and psychoeducational workshops.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary range for this position is highly competitive, offering between USD 115,000 and 130,000 per year based on experience and qualifications.
