Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate clients' mental health and substance use issues, ensuring accurate diagnosis of co-occurring disorders.

• Create individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, utilizing evidence-based therapies that address both mental health and substance use challenges, such as Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT).

• Provide individual and group therapy sessions, employing techniques that equip clients with coping skills, relapse prevention strategies, and emotional regulation practices.

• Effectively coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team, which includes psychiatrists, nurses, and addiction specialists, to deliver holistic and integrated treatment services.

• Implement regular monitoring of substance use progress and utilize motivational interviewing techniques to bolster clients’ commitment to their recovery journeys.

• Educate clients and their family members on the intricate relationship between mental health and substance use disorders, emphasizing the critical importance of treatment adherence.

• Ensure meticulous documentation of treatment progress, interventions, and referrals, following ethical and legal standards.

• Engage in continuous professional development through participation in training, workshops, and team-oriented case discussions to refine your skills in treating co-occurring disorders.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on individuals grappling with complex co-occurring disorders. This includes providing care to those battling both mental health issues and substance use challenges. Clients may present with diagnoses ranging from anxiety and depression to more severe disorders, often complicated by substance dependence. By addressing these dual facets of a client’s health, you will facilitate a more effective treatment protocol that promotes long-term recovery and life stability.

Qualifications\n

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in California.

• Proven proficiency in evidence-based treatment modalities for co-occurring disorders, including but not limited to Motivational Interviewing (MI).

• A thorough understanding of the correlation between mental health disorders and substance use issues.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively alongside interdisciplinary teams.

Preferred Experience\n

Compensation and Benefits\n
