Work Environment\n

This position is fully remote, utilizing telehealth technology to reach clients across various geographical locations. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conducting thorough initial assessments and ongoing evaluations to identify clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health needs.

• Developing and implementing individualized treatment and recovery plans tailored to each client’s unique circumstances and goals.

• Facilitating engaging individual therapy and group therapy sessions that foster client participation and encourage personal development.

• Monitoring clients' progress consistently and adjusting interventions as necessary to ensure their well-being and recovery.

• Collaborating effectively with other mental health professionals, including social workers, nurses, and psychiatrists, to enhance client care.

• Providing follow-up consultations for clients transitioning to or from inpatient care, ensuring continuity in their treatment journey.

• Identifying potential barriers to recovery and implementing strategies to overcome these obstacles effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will serve a diverse clientele, including individuals facing a wide range of mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction. You will create an empathetic and supportive environment, helping clients navigate their pathways to improved mental health and life satisfaction.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Illinois.

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a strong ability to convey empathy and understanding.

• Proficient in using electronic health record systems to manage client information and documentation efficiently.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of experience as a mental health counselor, with a strong background in providing individual and group therapy.

• Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic practices, particularly those endorsed by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Experience in dealing with clients who have co-occurring physical and emotional disorders, including addiction issues.

• A comprehensive understanding of psychopharmacological treatments and the impacts of medications prescribed by healthcare professionals.
