Nystrom & Family Care Therapy is looking to hire a dedicated and experienced Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our remote team. This full-time position focuses on providing specialized mental health care for individuals who have experienced trauma, including but not limited to those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. You will play a crucial role in developing recovery-oriented treatment plans and facilitating healing for vulnerable populations.

This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from the convenience of your own home while engaging with patients through our secure telehealth platform. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate each patient's history and identify their unique treatment needs.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans focusing on trauma recovery, resilience, and emotional well-being.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to guide therapy sessions.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping patients process their trauma experiences and develop effective coping strategies.

• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other multidisciplinary team members to ensure patients receive comprehensive and integrated care.

• Provide crisis intervention and immediate support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring patient safety and emotional stabilization.

• Educate patients and their families on trauma responses and available coping mechanisms, fostering understanding and resilience.

• Maintain thorough and confidential documentation compliant with legal and ethical standards, using EHR systems for accuracy.

• Engage in ongoing professional development through case consultations, team meetings, and training focused on advancing trauma-informed care practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your clients will primarily consist of individuals grappling with the aftermath of trauma, including survivors of abuse, neglect, and other significant life stressors. You will work with people from diverse backgrounds and varying ages, adapting your therapeutic techniques to meet their specific needs while helping them navigate the complex emotions associated with their experiences.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT in the state of Illinois.

• At least two years of post-licensure experience in a mental health setting, with a specific focus on trauma-informed care preferred.

• Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and treatment modalities relevant to these conditions.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to therapy.

• Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant software applications.

• A collaborative mindset with an ability to work successfully within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 90,000 – 100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
