This position operates in a flexible remote setting, allowing for a conducive work-life balance, while still connecting deeply with patients through virtual platforms. Our outpatient office is equipped with the latest technology to facilitate effective mental health support and collaboration with other healthcare professionals. The work schedule typically runs Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some opportunities for flexible hours to accommodate patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to understand the unique trauma histories of each patient.

• Develop, implement, and regularly review individualized treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery and resilience-building strategies.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to provide optimal care.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, assisting patients in processing their trauma, enhancing coping skills, and promoting overall mental health.

• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and integrated care.

• Respond promptly to crisis situations, providing immediate support for trauma-related emergencies.
\n
• Educate patients and their families regarding trauma responses, available resources, and effective coping mechanisms.

• Maintain accurate and confidential patient documentation in adherence to both legal and ethical standards.

• Engage in regular case consultations and team meetings to enhance treatment outcomes and share insights on trauma-informed care.

• Stay abreast of the latest research and therapeutic practices in trauma therapy to continually improve the quality of care delivered.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role predominantly focuses on individuals experiencing the effects of trauma, including those suffering from PTSD, complex trauma, or dissociation. You will work closely with diverse patients, each with unique backgrounds and experiences, allowing you to refine your skills and adapt your approach to a variety of situations. By fostering a strong therapeutic alliance with your clients, you will play an essential role in their recovery and emotional well-being.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in California.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience as a mental health therapist is preferred.

• Demonstrated knowledge of trauma-related disorders and evidence-based trauma-informed treatment methods.

• Proficiency in delivering trauma-specific therapies and a deep understanding of resilience-building interventions.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, paired with a compassionate, non-judgmental approach.

• Ability to remain composed under pressure in high-stress contexts.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant technological applications.

• Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team framework.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of two years of relevant experience is required, we highly value candidates who have additional experience with trauma-focused therapeutic methodologies. Familiarity with community resources and integrated care models will also be viewed favorably.

Compensation and Benefits\n
