This full-time position primarily focuses on providing trauma-informed care to individuals facing the challenges associated with trauma. As a Mental Health Counselor, you will employ your expertise to foster resilience and healing in our clients, working with them on their journey towards mental wellness from the comfort of a dynamic remote setting.

Work Environment\n

This is a remote position, allowing you to work from home while still providing critical services to our clients. Despite the virtual nature of the job, we ensure a collaborative work culture that includes regular team meetings and case consultations. Our goal is to maintain a supportive and engaging environment among our team members. We also offer flexible scheduling, typically Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, to adapt to the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to accurately evaluate each patient's history and treatment needs.

• Develop and carry out tailored treatment plans aimed at trauma recovery that acknowledge the unique experiences of each patient.

• Utilize evidence-based techniques, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to promote healing and recovery.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, focusing on help patients articulate their trauma experiences, learn coping mechanisms, and work toward emotional resilience.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated and holistic care.
\n
• Offer real-time crisis intervention during emergencies related to trauma, ensuring immediate support.
\n
• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses and available coping resources.
\n
• Maintain precise and confidential documentation consistent with legal and ethical guidelines.
\n
• Participate in ongoing professional development and implement the latest best practices in trauma therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our primary client focus includes individuals dealing with the aftermath of traumatic events, such as survivors of abuse, natural disasters, and other life-altering incidents. You will meet patients at various stages in their trauma recovery journey, providing compassionate support and tailored strategies to help them navigate their experiences and restore their sense of agency.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.
\n
• Strong foundational knowledge of trauma-related disorders and treatment methods, particularly those oriented towards resilience-building.

• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, demonstrating a compassionate, non-judgmental approach with clients.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience, ideally in a trauma-focused setting.

• Experience utilizing trauma-informed care methodologies, preferably with knowledge of the latest therapeutic models and interventions.

• Proficiency in electronic health record systems and related computer applications.

• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.

Compensation and Benefits\n

Our competitive salary package ranges from USD 90,000 to 110,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
