In this full-time remote role, you will be at the forefront of providing specialized, trauma-informed mental health services to individuals navigating the complex challenges of trauma recovery. Work Environment\n

This position allows for complete remote work, facilitating a flexible work-life balance while leveraging technology for telehealth sessions. Our team thrives in a collaborative, progressive culture that fosters professional development and prioritizes the mental health of both clients and staff. With a 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM work schedule from Monday to Friday, our therapists may occasionally adjust availability to meet the needs of their clients.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to understand patients' histories and tailor effective treatment plans.

• Design individualized treatment strategies focusing on trauma recovery, employing evidence-based methods like Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, guiding clients in processing their trauma and developing effective coping strategies.
\n
• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to deliver integrated care and holistic support.
\n
• Provide crisis intervention and support, handling trauma-related emergencies with sensitivity and professionalism.
\n
• Educate clients and their families about trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and relevant resources that can aid in the recovery process.
\n
• Maintain thorough and confidential documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring accuracy and clarity in all client records.

• Engage in regular case consultations and team meetings to enhance the effectiveness of our trauma-informed practice.

• Stay informed on the latest research and methodologies in trauma therapy, continuously integrating new knowledge into therapeutic practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Life Edge, you will work primarily with individuals who have experienced significant trauma, including those dealing with PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Our clients often present with a range of emotional and psychological challenges, and your role will be critical in helping them navigate their recovery journeys. Through empathy and expert care, you will contribute to the healing processes of those who have faced adversity.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.
\n
• A strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating compassion and a non-judgmental approach to therapy.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms.
\n
• The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team setting.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a mental health setting.

• Proven experience delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions.
