Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive, trauma-informed mental health assessments to understand each patient’s history and treatment needs.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), in both individual and group therapy sessions.

• Deliver psychoeducation to patients and their families, teaching effective coping strategies and providing resources for enhanced understanding of trauma responses.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary professionals, ensuring comprehensive and cohesive care for our patients.

• Provide effective crisis intervention during emergencies, equipping patients with immediate support and strategies for navigating trauma-related challenges.

• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient interactions and treatment interventions in compliance with ethical and legal standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our practice primarily serves individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma that affect their mental health and daily functioning. This includes trauma survivors dealing with PTSD, complex trauma, and those presenting with dissociative disorders. You will be instrumental in helping these individuals recognize their trauma responses, develop coping mechanisms, and navigate their recovery journeys within a supportive environment.

Qualifications\n

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT within the state of New York.
