Work Environment

This role is office-based within a local school, where the Nurse Practitioner will collaborate closely with school administrators, teachers, and parents to enhance student health. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments through detailed physical examinations, comprehensive medical histories, and necessary diagnostic testing.
• Evaluate student health concerns and provide appropriate interventions, including the management of chronic conditions prevalent among children.
• Prescribe medications as needed and monitor patients for responses to treatment, adjusting care plans accordingly to achieve optimal health outcomes.
• Educate students and their families about preventive health measures, including nutrition, exercise, and mental health awareness.
• Provide counseling services to address mental health issues, ensuring students have access to emotional support and resources.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including school counselors and social workers, to facilitate comprehensive care for students.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role will be the pediatric and adolescent population within the school, addressing both their physical and psychological health. Our Nurse Practitioner will play a crucial role in identifying health concerns early, providing preventive education, and ensuring that students maintain their health to support their learning and development.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Valid New York State Nurse Practitioner (NP) licensure.
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience in a family medicine or related field, specifically working with children and adolescents.
• Strong clinical skills in assessing and managing common pediatric conditions.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in school-based healthcare settings or community health is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) management and telehealth technology.
• Familiarity with mental health challenges faced by children and adolescents.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 150,000 to 160,000 annually, alongside a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
