Work Environment

This full-time position will be housed in a hospital setting, ensuring that you have access to a broad range of medical resources and support staff to assist in delivering high-quality patient care. You will work Monday through Friday, with a standard 40-hour workweek, concluding daily at 5:00 PM. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and take detailed medical histories from patients.
• Order and analyze diagnostic tests, such as blood tests and imaging studies (e.g., X-rays), to assist in clinical decision-making.
• Diagnose and manage various health conditions, focusing on pain management strategies for chronic and acute illnesses.
• Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans, including prescribing medications and recommending physical therapy or rehabilitation.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting all interactions and treatments effectively.
• Educate patients and their families about disease prevention, pain management strategies, and prescribed treatment plans.
• Promote good health practices by engaging patients in discussions about lifestyle changes and health maintenance.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including 5 physicians and 5 nurse practitioners, to ensure holistic patient care.
• Participate in continuous education and research activities to advance your clinical expertise and stay up-to-date with industry developments.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily serve adult patients experiencing chronic pain from various medical conditions, including musculoskeletal disorders, neuropathic pain, and post-surgical recovery. Your approach will focus on compassionate care, understanding how pain impacts individuals’ daily lives, and customizing treatment plans to meet each patient’s unique circumstances.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
• A valid Physician Assistant license to practice in New Jersey (PA-C) and a DEA number.
• Strong foundational knowledge of primary care, including experience in acute care, chronic disease management, and pain management approaches.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to foster trust and rapport with patients and team members alike.
• Strong ethical standards and professionalism in patient interactions.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience working as a Physician Assistant in a clinical or hospital setting, particularly in pain management.
• Familiarity with relevant health regulations and patient care standards.
• Experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish are a plus but not required.

Compensation and Benefits
