Work Environment

Located in the vibrant community of Lakewood, New Jersey, our clinic is designed to facilitate collaborative healthcare practices. As a Physician Assistant in a surgical setting, you will work onsite, closely collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. While regular business hours are typically Monday through Friday, flexibility may be required for evening or weekend shifts to accommodate our patients’ needs. Your role will contribute significantly to ensuring that we meet our commitment to delivering outstanding care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting comprehensive medical evaluations and pain assessments to identify the root causes of patients' pain, integrating physical, psychological, and social factors.
• Developing tailored treatment plans that might include pharmacological, interventional, and complementary approaches to pain relief, taking into consideration individual patient needs.
• Providing ongoing care for patients with chronic pain, focusing on functional improvement, pain reduction, and quality of life enhancement through evidence-based practices.
• Managing acute pain through the application of a variety of procedures and modalities to minimize discomfort effectively.
• Prescribing and overseeing medications for pain management, while monitoring patients for efficacy and side effects, ensuring a balanced approach to treatment.
• Performing interventional techniques, including nerve blocks and minimally invasive procedures, under guidance from supervising physicians.
• Educating patients on lifestyle modifications, self-care techniques, and pain management strategies to promote their active involvement in treatment.
• Maintaining meticulous electronic health records (EHR) that track patient history, treatment plans, and progress to support seamless healthcare delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will involve working closely with a diverse patient population, including those suffering from chronic pain conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, and neuropathic pain, as well as patients recovering from surgeries or injuries. The goal is to provide compassionate, individualized care that empowers patients to manage their pain effectively and improve their quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required.
• Current and active state medical license in good standing.
• Education and training in pain management or a related specialty.
• Strong clinical and diagnostic skills, with a particular emphasis on pain assessment and management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering a patient-centered approach.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems for documenting patient care.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a pain management setting or surgical environment.
• Fellowship training in Pain Management is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professional development in the field of pain management.

Compensation and Benefits
