Full-Time Physician Assistant in Pain Management

Position Overview

The First Movement Pain Medicine Clinic in Toms River, New Jersey, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician Assistant to join our team in a full-time capacity. This role will focus primarily on pain management and rehabilitation, allowing you to have a profound impact on the health experiences of our patients. First Movement Pain Medicine Clinic is a leading healthcare facility dedicated to providing specialized pain management services. Located in Toms River, we are committed to employing innovative approaches to treat pain and facilitate healing through an integrative model of care. Our multidisciplinary team includes a diverse group of 5 MDs and 5 Nurse Practitioners, all dedicated to creating personalized care plans that address the unique needs of each patient.

Work Environment

This full-time position is based onsite at our hospital-affiliated clinic, and standard working hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The collaborative environment promotes teamwork among healthcare professionals, where you will interact closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff to create a positive patient care experience. With a focus on outpatient care, your role will facilitate meaningful changes in the lives of patients seeking relief from chronic pain.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations of patients to assess health conditions relevant to pain management.
• Order, interpret, and analyze diagnostic tests such as blood work and imaging studies to inform treatment plans.
• Diagnose acute and chronic pain conditions and develop treatment strategies aligned with evidence-based practices.
• Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions to manage pain effectively.
• Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and clinic policies.
• Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications for pain management.
• Promote preventative health measures and chronic disease management, empowering patients to take control of their health.
• Stay current with the latest research in pain management to continually advance professional knowledge and skill sets.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population primarily comprises individuals experiencing chronic pain conditions, including but not limited to back pain, fibromyalgia, arthritis, and post-surgical pain. Your expertise will allow you to target treatment protocols that best suit each patient’s unique medical history and pain management goals. By fostering strong relationships with patients, you will help guide them through their recovery journey, providing ongoing support and encouragement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and a valid New Jersey State Physician Assistant license (PA-C required).
• DEA registration to prescribe controlled substances.
• Proficiency in the principles of primary, acute, and chronic care management.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong ethical foundation.
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse healthcare professionals.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in a clinical or hospital setting specifically in pain management or related fields.
• Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies is preferred.
• Experience with electronic health records and practice management systems.
• Bilingual capabilities are a plus but not mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 120,000 to USD 150,000 annually, commensurate with experience. In addition to a robust salary, our comprehensive benefits package includes:
