Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to trauma alerts, performing thorough assessments of patients' conditions upon arrival.
• Stabilize patients by implementing immediate care protocols to prevent further deterioration of their condition.
• Assist in resuscitation efforts and deliver life-saving interventions during critical emergencies, ensuring each patient receives timely medical care.
• Coordinate care with interprofessional teams, facilitating collaboration between physicians, nurses, and specialists for trauma patients.
• Conduct detailed physical examinations and interpret diagnostic results to inform treatment plans.
• Administer medications and initiate treatments as prescribed by attending physicians while monitoring patient responses.
• Support and assist in invasive procedures, wound management, and other essential medical interventions.
• Educate patients and their families about trauma care, recovery processes, and post-discharge planning to enhance their understanding and involvement in care.
• Assist in transferring trauma patients to designated units or facilities, ensuring continuity of care throughout the process.
• Manage and alleviate patients' pain and discomfort through effective interventions and communication.
• Adhere to strict infection control protocols and safety measures within the trauma care setting to protect patients and staff alike.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our Surgical Center caters to a diverse patient population, predominantly consisting of individuals presenting with acute injuries and surgical needs. You will work closely with varied demographics, from young to elderly patients, providing care that is tailored to each individual's unique health challenges. Your role will significantly impact their recovery journeys, emphasizing compassionate and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, along with completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant.
• Nationally certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Strong knowledge of trauma assessment protocols and stabilization processes.
• Ability to carry out trauma-related procedures effectively, under the supervision of experienced medical professionals.
• Demonstrable clinical and diagnostic skills in trauma patient evaluation.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities essential for collaborating with patients and healthcare team members.
• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure trauma environment.

Preferred Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in emergency medicine or trauma care.
• Familiarity with trauma-specific medications and procedures, as well as a strong commitment to ongoing professional development in trauma medicine.
• Previous experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is advantageous for documentation and patient management.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 140,000 to USD 180,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
