Your working hours will typically be Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts required based on patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to understand the unique psychological, emotional, and social needs of elderly patients.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that consider the cognitive and physical health of older adults.

• Work closely with geriatric psychiatrists and interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.

• Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, available treatments, and community resources to enhance their understanding and engagement in their care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role is designed specifically for professionals who are passionate about improving mental health care for the elderly. You will be working with a diverse clientele, including those who experience cognitive decline, emotional distress, and lifestyle adjustments associated with aging. Your ability to connect with older adults and their families will be crucial in fostering trust and facilitating effective therapy outcomes.

Qualifications\n

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as LCMFT, LCPC, LCP, LCSW, LSCSW, or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in the state of Kansas.

• Two years of post-licensure experience with a focus on geriatric mental health treatment is preferred.

• Proven expertise in geriatric mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment methodologies.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach and the ability to build strong rapport with elderly patients.

• Experience with electronic health record systems and related computer applications.

• Strong ability to function collaboratively as part of a diverse, multidisciplinary team.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive salary range of $75,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
