Work Environment

You will work in a supportive onsite home care environment. As part of the home care team, you will visit patients in their homes and provide therapy in a space that promotes comfort and openness. Therapy sessions occur primarily Monday through Friday, allowing for a structured yet adaptable schedule.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at Joint Journey Physical Therapy, you will:

• Engage with patients to conduct thorough evaluations of their physical condition and symptoms.
• Diagnose issues related to movement dysfunction and collaboratively develop personalized treatment plans.
• Instruct patients on therapeutic exercise techniques tailored to their needs, ensuring they utilize the exercises safely and effectively.
• Provide hands-on stimulation or massage therapies to facilitate healing and improve patient comfort.
• Assist patients in mastering the use of mobility and adaptive equipment, such as wheelchairs or walkers.
• Maintain accurate patient records and document progress toward established goals in compliance with healthcare standards.
• Educate patients and their families on at-home treatment strategies and exercises to promote ongoing healing and self-care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will encompass a diverse patient population, including children and adults with a wide range of diagnoses. The individuals you work with may present varying levels of mobility challenges and require targeted rehabilitation strategies to promote optimal recovery. Qualifications

To succeed in this position, you must possess:

• A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited institution.
• A valid physical therapy license in the state of Virginia.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and colleagues.
• Proficiency in computer skills, including word processing and electronic health record systems.
• Flexibility and adaptability in various therapeutic situations, displaying agility in meeting patient needs.

Preferred Experience

We ask that candidates have a minimum of two years of experience as a Physical Therapist, ideally within home care or similar environments. Experience with diverse patient populations and conditions will be an asset, as will the ability to work independently and collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.

Compensation and Benefits
