Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients to assess functional limitations and create tailored treatment plans.
• Implement evidence-based physical therapy interventions, continually assessing and modifying treatment methods as needed.
• Document all patient care, including evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes, in compliance with state regulations and professional standards.
• Coordinate with physicians and other healthcare providers to discuss patient progress and make adjustments to treatment goals.
• Provide education to patients and their families concerning treatment strategies and progression to facilitate engagement and understanding.
• Stay current with industry best practices and participate in continuing education to further enhance your skills and knowledge.
• Supervise support staff (PTA/AT/aide) and facilitate their professional growth through mentorship.
• Involve yourself in community outreach and program development initiatives that aim to expand access to rehabilitation services.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this position is to serve patients experiencing orthopedic ailments, including post-surgical recovery, chronic pain management, and mobility impairments. You will develop a treatment approach that considers the unique cultural, social, and individual backgrounds of each patient, ensuring a holistic approach to care.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• A valid State License to practice Physical Therapy.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction and collaboration with team members.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and physical therapy documentation systems.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, candidates with experience in outpatient orthopedic settings or home health care may find themselves at an advantage. Familiarity with functional outcome measures and patient-centered care philosophy is also beneficial.
