Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients’ mental health and substance use issues, identifying co-occurring disorders.

• Develop personalized, evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with clients, focusing on their unique needs and treatment goals.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, where you will help clients hone coping skills, establish relapse prevention techniques, and improve emotional regulation.

• Engage with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless coordination of care and comprehensive support for each client.

• Maintain regular substance use monitoring and use motivational interviewing techniques to aid clients in their recovery process.

• Provide educational resources to clients and families regarding the complex relationship between mental health and substance use disorders, reinforcing treatment compliance.

• Accurately document treatment progress, interventions, and referrals in compliance with ethical and legal standards.

• Engage actively in case conferences, staff meetings, and training sessions to continuously enhance your skills and stay updated with best practices in co-occurring disorder treatment.

This role primarily focuses on individuals experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. You will work with a diverse clientele, from those new to recovery to individuals seeking to maintain long-term sobriety. Your efforts will directly contribute to improving their quality of life and help break the cyclical nature of their conditions.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Active and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.

• Proven experience in applying evidence-based therapies specifically for co-occurring disorders, such as Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

• In-depth understanding of the interconnection between mental health and substance use disorders.
\n
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with clients and collaborate with a diverse team of professionals.

• Minimum of two years of relevant experience in a clinical setting, preferably working with co-occurring disorders.

• Previous experience in community health or outpatient settings is highly desirable.
