Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including obtaining detailed medical histories and performing thorough physical examinations.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests related to cardiology, making clinical decisions based on evidence and patient health concerns.
• Prescribe appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments, ensuring a personalized approach to care.
• Document patient progress by maintaining accurate records, writing treatment orders, and updating progress notes in electronic health records.
• Monitor and verify the accuracy of patient medical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Provide patients with follow-up care, closely adhering to protocols established in collaboration with supervising physicians.
• Engage effectively with patients and their families, delivering education about health maintenance and treatment plans.
• Participate in hospital rounds as needed and assist with in-basket tasks that support the physicians in their daily responsibilities.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The focus of this role will be on our cardiac patients, who may range from those requiring preventive care to those with complex heart conditions that demand ongoing management and support. Through your role, you will directly contribute to enhancing the quality of life for our patients, addressing not only their medical needs but also considering their emotional well-being and lifestyle modifications essential for heart health.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program is mandatory.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in New York State is required.
• Must possess a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, preferably in a cardiology or related healthcare setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification is essential to ensure patient safety in emergency situations.
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to cultivate relationships with diverse patient populations.

Preferred Experience

Experience working within a cardiology department is highly preferred, as is familiarity with electronic health record systems and clinical support tools commonly used in outpatient settings. Candidates with additional certifications relevant to cardiac care will be given preference.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $150,000 to $160,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
