Bright Minds Crisis Intervention Clinic is currently seeking a full-time licensed Mental Health Counselor specializing in trauma-informed care. Work Environment\n

You will work in a supportive remote outpatient setting, allowing flexibility to engage with patients in a manner that prioritizes their comfort and therapeutic needs. Our clinic operates during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the possibility for some scheduling flexibility based on the urgency of patient care.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to understand patients' histories and develop tailored treatment approaches.

• Create and implement individualized treatment plans that focus on recovery, coping strategies, and resilience-building techniques.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate effective patient recovery.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions to guide patients through their trauma processing and healing journeys.
\n
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary team members to provide holistic care and monitor patient progress.
\n
• Provide crisis intervention support during emergencies related to trauma and mental health crises.
\n
• Educate patients and their families on trauma responses and coping mechanisms, empowering them with knowledge and resources for recovery.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation to comply with legal, ethical, and clinical standards.
\n
• Engage in regular case consultations and professional development activities centered on trauma-informed practices, ensuring you stay current with the latest research and treatment options.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on individuals who have experienced significant trauma, including complex trauma and PTSD. You will work with a diverse clientele that may include adults, adolescents, and families, all seeking support to navigate the multifaceted effects of traumatic experiences. The clinic endorses a holistic approach to treatment, placing emphasis on each client's unique circumstances and recovery journey.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT within the state of Illinois.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting is preferred.

• Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and demonstrated skills in trauma-informed treatment methodologies.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, marked by a compassionate and non-judgmental demeanor.

• A proven ability to maintain composure and effectiveness in high-stress situations.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and a proficiency with relevant computer applications.

Preferred Experience\n

While two years of post-licensure experience is required, ideal candidates will bring additional expertise in trauma-focused therapies and have participated in ongoing professional development specific to trauma-informed care practices. Experience with crisis intervention and a proactive approach to patient engagement will be beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits\n
