Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will:

• Conduct thorough evaluations, including detailed review of patient history, targeted assessments, and the formulation of personalized treatment plans based on unique patient needs.
• Effectively communicate evaluation findings and treatment plans to patients and their families, ensuring they are active participants in the goal-setting process for recovery.
• Demonstrate expertise in implementing evidence-based treatment protocols that are tailored to patient presentations and the dynamic healthcare environment.
• Engage in interprofessional communication with healthcare colleagues to optimize patient care, recognizing when to modify treatment plans based on changes in a patient's condition.
• Manage comprehensive discharge planning and follow-up care, diligently documenting each patient's course of treatment to reflect a clear narrative—from initial evaluation to discharge.
• Exhibit strong time management skills and maintain a productive schedule, ensuring timely attendance at meetings and participation in both hospital and community marketing activities.
• Contribute to departmental goals and compliance with regulatory standards, aligning your efforts with the organization's mission of excellence in care.
• Pursue continuing education opportunities to enhance personal and organizational competencies, serving as a mentor to assigned students as needed.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with adult and geriatric patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal pain. Our patient-centered approach emphasizes understanding each individual's unique circumstances and organizing care that supports their physical and emotional well-being throughout their rehabilitation journey.

Qualifications

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred.
• Hold an active state license to practice physical therapy in Virginia, or be eligible for licensure as per state regulations.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) as mandated by the American Heart Association.
• Prior clinical experience is advantageous but not mandatory; we welcome new graduates who are eager to learn and grow.

Preferred Experience

Experience in orthopedic rehabilitation, knowledge of manual therapy techniques, and familiarity with a variety of treatment modalities will be advantageous in providing the best quality care. Compensation and Benefits
