Wholeness Rediscovered Behavioral Rehabilitation Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a full-time, remote position. This opportunity allows you to leverage your expertise in providing specialized therapeutic care to individuals affected by trauma, particularly those dealing with complex trauma, PTSD, and dissociative disorders.

Work Environment\n

This role offers flexibility as it is fully remote, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home while still being part of a collaborative team. Our operational hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility to accommodate patient needs. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to gauge patients' trauma histories and develop tailored treatment approaches.

• Create and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at fostering trauma recovery and building resilience.
\n
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to guide patients through their healing process.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions that enable patients to effectively process trauma, establish coping strategies, and encourage healing.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated, holistic care for each patient.

• Provide crisis intervention and emotional support during trauma-related emergencies, employing sound judgment and expertise.
\n
• Educate patients and their families about understanding trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and local resources.
\n
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient documentation in compliance with all legal and ethical standards.

• Engage in regular case consultations, team meetings, and continuing education activities focused on trauma-informed care innovations.

• Stay informed about the latest research and best practices related to trauma therapy, integrating new findings into practice as appropriate.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will be primarily working with individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma, including survivors of abuse, natural disasters, and other significant life challenges. Our patients often struggle with PTSD, complex trauma, and associated mental health concerns. Your role will be vital in guiding them toward healing, equipping them with the skills and resilience necessary to thrive.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling, ideally with a focus on trauma.

• Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment methodologies.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.

• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems to maintain patient documentation.

• Ability to thrive in a remote, collaborative environment, working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
