Work Environment

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Touchstone, you will be working in a fully remote setting, utilizing telehealth platforms to connect with clients. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health evaluations, including preliminary interviews and ongoing assessments, documenting the journey from the initial consultation to the completion of treatment.
• Collaboratively develop individualized treatment plans that cater to the specific needs of clients, which may include individuals, couples, families, and group therapy dynamics.
• Facilitate engaging therapy sessions, applying evidence-based interventions and therapeutic modalities to promote client recovery and adaptation.
• Monitor client progress diligently through regular follow-ups and adjust treatment plans in consultation with healthcare providers when necessary.
• Act as a liaison between clients and other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists and primary care physicians, to ensure holistic care and effective management of cases.
• Assist family members and primary caregivers in navigating mental health challenges, providing education and resources to enhance their understanding and support of the clients' needs.
• Implement strategies to identify and mitigate behaviors that may hinder the recovery process, ensuring a focus on building resilience and coping skills.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our client base is diverse, consisting of individuals grappling with various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and substance abuse disorders. The role requires an understanding of the unique cultural and socio-economic backgrounds of our clients, and a commitment to providing culturally competent care that fosters trust and connection.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York is required.
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Demonstrated experience in mental health counseling, showcasing your ability to navigate complex client scenarios.

Preferred Experience

• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to manage patient data efficiently.
• Experience in handling underlying physical and emotional health issues, as well as addiction disorders, to facilitate comprehensive care.
• Familiarity with the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) is an asset.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, combined with a compassionate and understanding approach to counseling.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, allowing for genuine connections with clients and peers.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is competitive, ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, complemented by a sign-on bonus.
