Key Responsibilities\n

As a Mental Health Counselor at Sharpman Counseling, you will be responsible for:

• Applying a variety of evidence-based mental health therapy techniques and interventions to effectively treat individuals and families facing diagnosed emotional and behavioral disorders.

• Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments and developing initial discharge plans tailored to the needs of each client.

• Facilitating one-on-one and group therapy sessions as indicated in each client’s treatment plan, ensuring a supportive and safe environment for exploration and growth.

• Creating initial treatment plans based on thorough assessments, coordinating essential services, and revising plans as necessary to meet evolving client needs.

• Maintaining detailed documentation of all therapy services delivered, ensuring that compliance with facility and professional standards is upheld.

• Carrying a manageable caseload as assigned and actively participating in treatment team meetings to discuss and refine client care strategies with fellow professionals.

• Demonstrating a compassionate and professional demeanor in all interactions, recognizing that patient safety and satisfaction are of paramount importance.

Qualifications\n

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:

• Current licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) as required by the state of Virginia.

• Valid and active state or national licensure for professional therapy providers, or eligibility for state licensure.

Preferred Experience\n

Candidates with a minimum of two years of experience in mental health counseling, including work with diverse populations and across the lifespan, will be preferred. Experience with telehealth modalities and familiarity with digital counseling tools is advantageous.
