Work Environment

The successful candidate will work within a fast-paced surgical center that emphasizes teamwork, respect, and open communication among healthcare professionals. The typical schedule will be Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a work-life balance while fostering a supportive and collaborative working atmosphere. Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with surgeons to manage the complete spectrum of patient care, including pre-operative assessments, intra-operative assistance, and post-operative follow-ups.
• Perform daily rounds, conducting thorough evaluations of patient health, documenting findings, and developing individualized treatment plans aligned with the highest standards of care.
• Assist in the operating room by providing support during surgical procedures, including acting as a first assist in laparoscopic and robotic surgeries when necessary.
• Manage patient admissions and discharges efficiently while ensuring proper documentation and education regarding pre- and post-operative instructions.
• Engage in consultative roles within the Emergency Department (ED) and Critical Care Unit (CCU), enhancing the integration of surgical care across departments.
• Continuously monitor patient progress and adapt treatment plans when needed, demonstrating clinical expertise in a multidisciplinary health care team.
• Exercise exemplary communication skills to connect with patients and their families, providing compassionate care and answering any questions regarding procedures or recovery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physician Assistant will work with a diverse patient population across various age groups, from pediatric to geriatric patients. This position requires the ability to tailor communication and care strategies to meet the specific needs of each patient, thus fostering a supportive and understanding care environment.

Qualifications

• A Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited institution.
• Certification as a Physician Assistant, with a valid state license to practice.
• DEA License to prescribe medications.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification must be obtained within the first 12 months of hire.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of professional experience as a Physician Assistant with a focus on surgery or hospital medicine.
• Experience in operating room procedures, particularly with laparoscopic and robotic systems, is highly regarded but not mandatory.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment with a passion for continuous learning.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position ranges from $130,000 to $170,000 per year, complemented by performance bonuses.
